SMS Messaging Program

Fresh Start Counseling ("FSC") offers SMS text messaging services to communicate with employees, contractors, credentialed providers, and job applicants. By opting in to receive SMS messages from FSC, you agree to these SMS Terms of Service.

Program Overview

Purpose: FSC uses SMS messaging for operational communications including:

  • Account welcome notifications and portal access information
  • Onboarding checklist reminders and task notifications
  • Weekly availability requests for scheduling purposes
  • New case assignments and client coordination
  • Job application confirmations and status updates
  • Interview scheduling and reminder notifications

Message Types and Campaigns

Staff Operations Campaign

Audience: Employees, contractors, and credentialed providers

Message Type: Account Notifications (Informational)

Example Messages:

  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Welcome to the team! Your FSC Portal account is ready."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] You have 3 items left on your FSC onboarding checklist."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Please reply with your outpatient availability this week."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] You have been assigned a new case for [Client Name]."

Applicant Hiring Campaign

Audience: Job applicants

Message Type: Account Notifications (Informational)

Example Messages:

  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Your application has been received. Our HR team will review it shortly."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Your FSC interview is scheduled for December 10 at 2:00 PM."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Reminder: Your FSC interview is in 1 hour."
  • "[Fresh Start Counseling] Great news! Your FSC application has been approved."

Opt-In and Consent

How to Opt-In:

  • Job Applicants: Check the SMS consent box when submitting a job application at www.fscnj.com/opportunities/
  • Employees & Providers: Check the SMS consent box during onboarding in the FSC Portal at app.fscnj.com
  • Clients: Check the SMS consent box on intake request forms

Consent Language:

"I consent to receive SMS messages from Fresh Start Counseling including account notifications, case assignments, scheduling reminders, and application status updates. Reply STOP to opt-out; Reply HELP for support; Message and data rates may apply; Messaging frequency may vary. Visit https://www.fscnj.com/privacy-policy/ for privacy policy."

How to Opt-Out (Unsubscribe)

To stop receiving SMS messages from FSC, you have three options:

Reply STOP

Send a text message with the word STOP to any FSC text message. You will receive a confirmation message: "You have been unsubscribed from FSC SMS messages. Reply START to re-subscribe."

Portal Settings

Log into the FSC Portal at app.fscnj.com, go to Settings → Notifications, and disable SMS notifications.

Note: Opting out of SMS does not affect other forms of communication (email, phone, portal notifications).

Message Frequency and Costs

Message Frequency: Messaging frequency varies based on your role and activity:

  • Job Applicants: 1-5 messages per application (confirmations, interview scheduling, reminders)
  • Employees & Providers: Up to 4 messages per week (case assignments, availability requests, reminders)
  • Onboarding Staff: Up to 3 messages per week during initial onboarding period

Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. FSC does not charge for SMS messages. Standard SMS rates from your wireless carrier will apply.

  • Verizon Wireless
  • T-Mobile
  • Sprint
  • Boost Mobile
  • Cricket Wireless
  • Metro PCS
  • U.S. Cellular
  • Virgin Mobile
  • And other major carriers

Privacy and Data Sharing

No mobile opt-in data or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

We use RingCentral as our SMS service provider. Your phone number and message history are stored securely and used solely for operational communications related to your employment, application, or service with FSC.

User Responsibilities

By opting in to SMS messages, you:

  • Confirm that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number provided
  • Agree to notify FSC promptly if your mobile number changes
  • Understand that you are responsible for any mobile carrier fees
  • Acknowledge that SMS delivery is not guaranteed and may be delayed

Changes to These Terms

FSC may update these SMS Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our SMS program after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Compliance and Regulation

FSC's SMS program complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Guidelines, and carrier-level 10DLC regulations. Our campaigns are registered with The Campaign Registry (TCR) for transparency and spam prevention.
